Is this the best mouse from Logitech?
The one mouse that can cover all bases such as a gaming, office work, and engineering? Let us find out.
The only mouse we know are the ones we used. No matter how many times we see a mouse review on the net or on the video, it will never satisfy the feeling of actually using one. But still the best we can do is try to convey to you the feeling and joy of using this mouse.
And when I say joy of using this mouse, I specifically mean the free scroll. If you have not used it in your life, stop what you are doing and buy any Logitech Mouse that has one. It is incredible to be able to scroll through copious documents with a flick of a finger and then quickly toggle to a sturdy click wheel in games. In fact this differentiator is the core reason I use Logitech and always seem to come back. I cannot get away from it and whoever cooked it up in Logitech, thanks. I am now addicted because of you.
Speed? This is using the Hero 25K Sensor capable of 400+ IPS tracking speed with 25,600 DPI range. You won’t miss a beat or a shot with this performance and I can attest both the wired and wireless are similar. In fact the wireless has a speed of 1000Hz (1ms) which is no different from the USB report rate. And the wireless version of this mouse allows it to be 7 grams lighter. Its a difference I can feel and enjoy. When I play online however, my enemies can feel the wrath of sharp shooting due to the excellent sensor.
Battery Life
With every new wireless technology, the question remains. Does this have a good battery life? And the answer? Yes. I can go about working all day for days without having to charge this mouse. Granted I do have an option to dim the logo light which I do. Usually my hand covers it anyways, but at night that faint glow is there reminding me that this is a gaming peripheral. And it’s a looker. When gaming with continuous use, it lasts 60 hours according to the website, but in real life it feels more (I can’t game 60 hours straight). In short, I don’t worry about it.
Logitech G502 Conclusion
What you are getting here is an amazing mouse form logitech with even better sensors and lighter weight which can easily be changed with pre-packaged weights. Want a heavier mouse? No problem, use the weights.
The only issue I have with it is, it is little bit on the smaller side. I wish it was more fuller and tad bit taller for ergonomics, but seeing that my hand nor wrist has complained ever since using a G502 variant, the makers at Logitech seems to have figured the ergonomics out with this mouse.
In conclusion, whether you get this mouse or the wired version of the G502, know that you are getting a legend. A mouse that once you use and get used to, it will be a tough sell to look elsewhere. I throw this ode to you 502, you are the one.
-Now Logitech, please update my other favorite mouse. It’s been forever.
