Samsung Announces New Galaxy S21 Lines

January is always exciting for tech enthusiasts. We get to see what Samsung has in store for us! Today is no different. Samsung announced three new phones as many people were expecting and I can’t wait to get my Samsung Galaxy S21 in the mail to review it! However the big star is the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra that was announced.

Galaxy S21 Ultra

The finest and most complete package from Samsung Galaxy S21 line, this phone has it all. 8K video recording, rear wide-angle 108MP camera, ultra-wide 12MP camera which does 3x and 10x optical zoom. Also included this year is same as last year with 100x Space zoom which is said to be much more clear than last year version. This is due to their first ever Dual-tele lens system. The new Chip from Qualcomm the Snapdragon 888 should also make your cameras work faster and better than previous Galaxy S20 phones. Also this phone can be equipped with up to 16GB of RAM which shows how far phones have come. It also has support for a new S Pen stylus which is a separate piece unlike the ones that fit inside a Galaxy Note series.

The battery is also massive like the phone as it holds 5000 mAh smart battery which should help last all day. This is where we want to see improvement with AI which helps with the battery life by balancing things intelligently. Also it is capable of fast charging that can charge more than 50 percent in just 30 minutes!

Being the largest member it has a 6.8 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display which is there most intelligent display yet. It allows 120Hz refresh rate and a Quad HD+ display without sacrificing usage of one or the other- you can have both on. I am excited to hear about this. The intelligent part is that it refreshes the rate from 10Hz to 120Hz which makes it more power efficient and should help with your phone stay on longer. Samsung also touts a brighter screen and Eye Comfort Shield to help with protecting your eyes.

One Big Change

I wasn’t sure if the rumor was true but it seems with the Samsung Galaxy S21 line, there won’t be MST support for Samsung Pay users. Previously this was a big plus for many people who paid with their phones as they can go to most credit card machines and pay with their phones. However going forward Samsung seems to be focused on NFC payments rather than supporting MST as NFC contactless payments seems to be expanding and getting more popular.

WiFi 6E Support

Another thing to be excited about in regards to speed is that this phone supports WiFi 6E as I’ve discussed here it’s something to be very excited about this year in 2021. As I know, this is the first smartphone that supports WiFi 6E in the United States so this is very exciting. Just remember you need to have a WiFi 6E router for it to work. Check out our list here. Also it comes with 5G for ultra-low latency and faster internet connection for all your streaming, downloading, and even uploading content when you are not near WiFi.

Galaxy SmartTag

Newly announced this Samsung event on January 14, 2021 there is a Galaxy SmartTag that is supposed to help you find anything you attach the tracker to. If you ever used a Tile, you will be familiar with this concept. And the great thing about the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is that it has ultrawideband (UWB) which will take advantage of the SmartTag Plus launching later in 2021. I am sure UWB usage will be expanded as well for other things as well. Stay tuned for these usage later.

All in all if you currently go to the Samsung site, you can pre-order the phone and get significant credits and even trade in values for eligible phones. As of this writing the credit is very generous for Samsung Galaxy S20 owners as they give you a $700 credit. Also for previous generation Galaxy S10 owners, the trade in value is at $550 which fantastic as well. Put in some credit freebies on top of it and I am sure many of you will be happy to switch. So go check it out if you are in the market for a new phone!

As for us we can’t wait to get our hands on the new Galaxy S21 devices and we will have a review here soon so stick around!
